Kisma’s Mindset goes back to her musician days which began in the 6th grade. She decided she was going to be the best flutist and in an orchestra.“I’m going to do whatever it takes to make this happen.” At one of her first band concerts, she was playing first flute and played an incorrect note. Kisma decided then that she would never play a wrong note ever again. She felt horrified. At a young age, it solidified this mindset that she was going to be good. Band is very competitive and she was the youngest and but still won the first chair. The older students did not like her because of that. Kisma practiced and practiced and used it as a way of escaping. The flute was her world and escape and she decided to practice as much as she could. Her first year of college was at Boston Conservatory which was much more difficult.
